We have started a new tradition of Mustang Mondays at the high school.  To accommodate your Mustang Spirit Wear needs, the school store will be offering a variety of new items in the upcoming school year.  Until that time, we are offering 8 new t-shirt designs for the remainder of this school year.  Each shirt is a 50/50 blend.

PSAT 10 Exam

If you registered to take the PSAT 10, it will be held this Thursday, March 1, 2018.
Testing Instructions:
  • Testing will begin at exactly 8:30am.  This means that you must be seated and ready to go at that time.
  • Report directly to your testing location.  We will take attendance there.
  • Bring an approved calculator and TWO number 2 pencils with you. (no mechanical pencils) (you may check your psat prep booklet for more specifics)
Room Locations:
Students with last names beginning with A-M report to the PAC
Students with last names beginning with N-Z report to room 500
The actual test is 2 hrs. 55 mins (including breaks)
It will take us 45-55 minutes, prior to the test, for pre-administration
  • Once the test is over, students will eat the current lunch wave or their regular wave, if you have not missed it already.
  • The PSAT 10 will only be administered on this date.  If you are not in school on Thursday, you may contact the Counseling Office and ask for a refund.

Driver Education Parent Meeting-February 28th

Parents of Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors:

Mr. Sprenkle and Mr. Poalucci will explain the driver education program (30 hours of classroom instruction, 6 hours of behind the wheel training, and taking your road test) and give you answers to the following questions.

  • How does my teenager get their permit?
  • Is behind the wheel training for every student?
  • How does my teenager get behind the wheel training?
  • How does my teenager take their road test at a testing center?
  • How does my teenager take their road test at South Western?
  • What should I (parent) be doing with my teenager when we drive together?
  • What is a parent/teen driving contract and what are the benefits?

When: Wednesday, February 28th

Where: High School Auditorium

Time: 7:00 PM

Leah Collins won the York County “No Excuses” Youth Traffic Safety Billboard Design Competition?

All students that had Safety Education in the fall semester got to participate in the competition. Lean was a student in Mr. Poalucci’s class.

Several South Western High School students are campaigning for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LSS) to raise money for this important cause!
