If your child did NOT pre-order a yearbook, the yearbooks will be Cash-n-Carry during Spark Walk Tuesday-Thursday next week! Those who DID pre-order will receive their yearbooks on Monday or Tuesday from their homeroom teachers. Remember, checks need to be made payable to EHMIS in the amount of $33 or you may send in $33 cash.

The 8th grade “move-up” dance is tonight (May 19th) at the SWHS Cafe from 7:30-9:30. It is a “white out” dress code. Admission is $2. Additionally, you can pay $2 more to use some glow paint and $1 each for glow sticks.
The Arts will Unite when the Emory H. Markle Intermediate School Fine and Practical Arts Department presents their 2017 Project Fair on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. The theme for this year’s Project Fair is “Unleash Your Superhero with The Arts!” Please join us as we celebrate student achievement in the areas of Art, Music, Family & Consumer Sciences, and Technology & Engineering. Student-made Artwork on display will include collages, ceramics, portraits, and various sculptures; and Family & Consumer Sciences will feature hand-sewn stuffed creatures and machine-sewn drawstring bags. Technology & Engineering will display students’ digital photography, transportation prototypes, structural engineering, simple machine catapults, graphic designs, robotics, 3-D print prototypes, and manufactured products. Music performances will be offered by the Jazz Band, Chamber Strings, and Show Choir. In addition, Family & Consumer Science students will present cooking demonstrations, Art students will demonstrate grid drawing and clay demonstrations, while members of the EHMIS Music Department will perform music throughout the evening. The public is invited to attend and learn how the Arts can unite to make a positive impact in our lives.

Pre-sales of the end of the year block party will be during the week of May 15-19, during lunch breaks for all grades. The price of tickets is $1.00 for 3 tickets or 10 box tops for 3 tickets. Box tops can be turned in in plastic clear ziploc bags with the child’s name, homeroom number. The block party will be on June 7th and we are looking for volunteers to help out the day of.
